In 2009, we introduced “fiber to the home” (FTTH) solution to the Armenian consumer, which allows providing high-quality TV (IPTV), high-speed internet and digital voice services.
In 2010, we gained stable position on the Armenian fixed broadband internet market, as well as became the largest wholesale operator in Armenia thanks to our own FO link connecting Armenia and Georgia.
In 2011, we started to provide transit internet to the Near East, thus making Armenia an important telecom hub in the region.
In 2013, we received a license for provision of public mobile internet services.
In 2015, we acquired 100% share of Orange Armenia, thus also ensuring our presence on the Armenian mobile services market.
In 2016, we implemented the fastest 4G+ network corresponding to the best international standards throughout the entire territory of Armenia, as well as replenished our convergent services, by introducing our new “4Play” package, combining IPTV, fixed and mobile voice and internet services.
In 2016-2017, we were actively engaged in CSR activities and contributed to ITT development, by bringing to life, in particular, a number of projects directed towards development of education and children. With the support of Ucom, computer and engineering laboratories were opened in the Armenian schools.
In 2017, Speedtest by Ookla awarded us “The Fastest Mobile Internet in Armenia” prize.
Ucom actively works at the expansion of TV content in HD quality, launches uKid and uFleet innovative solutions, as well as continues the implementation of CSR projects related to engineering education, offering the level of international competitions to the participants.
uCloud portal and uDoctor applications are introduced to the market. Ucom issues USD and AMD corporate bonds with yields of 7.5% and 11%, which are admitted for sale on the AMX stock exchange. Ucom is the first in the region to introduce eSIM technology. The company is also the technical sponsor of WCIT 2019.
As part of the Covid-19 CSR measures, the Company ensures distance learning possibility to all subscribers without charging for megabytes consumed when using a number of educational websites. The company approaches the problem of ensuring uninterrupted communication during the 44-day war in Artsakh with the utmost responsibility.
Ucom tests the 1 Gbit/s speed network, cooperates with the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, excels in performing the technical work related to the National Assembly elections held in Armenia, receives the "Fastest Fixed Network in Armenia 2021" award by Ookla, and launches the “Unity” convergent offer.
the Company's call center gets opened in Vanadzor, subscribers are provided with the latest Wi-Fi 6 devices, Ucom is the technical supporter of many sports, educational and technological events and receives "The Fastest Fixed Network in Armenia 2022" and "The Fastest Mobile Network in Armenia 2022" awards by Ookla.
We defined a new strategy, under which we launched active efforts to expand, modernize, and upgrade both fixed and mobile networks. We obtained ISO 9001 certification for our management system and ISO/IEC 27001 certification for information security compliance.
Ucom led a major breakthrough in Armenia’s digital future by launching the country’s largest 5G network. Within just a year, it reached 28 regional cities, delivering next-generation connectivity. We continued to upgrade and expand our 4G+ and fixed networks. As part of our corporate social responsibility efforts, we partnered with the Sunchild NGO to install solar panels on public buildings in border communities. Additionally, we launched a new incubation program for green tech startups in collaboration with Impact Hub.
